00:04 Hi, guys, it’s Dan from Soft Surfaces here, and on this video, we’re going to be showing a 3G pitch installation in Bradford, West Yorkshire. The first thing we did for this is actually examine the previous surface. As you can see here, it’s actually in a flood plain, so we’ve had to install that rhino pave path there to make sure it doesn’t flood. And here’s a very big photo of the area we’re going to be installing the 3G pitch onto. It’s a very large area.
00:22 Next up is the ground works. This actually involved us excavating existing area, obviously digging it all up and making it ready for the pitch to be installed there, and then finally, the construction was actually able to begin. As I said, it was built on a flood plain, so there was a lot of preparation that had to be done there for this to be installed.
00:36 Next up we’ve actually got the shockpad being installed here, so as you can see here’s some photos of us bringing that in on the van. And next up you’ve got some videos here of us actually installing the shockpad and the artificial turf, obviously, to the surface to complete that job, really. Obviously, with this surface type being 3G, it makes it absolutely ideal for football. There are different artificial grasses that we actually install for various different sports, like hockey, tennis, rugby, those kinds of things, but 3G is the perfect one if you’re going to have a football pitch installed, so, as you can see, that’s what we actually fitted here today.
01:02 Now, finally, we install the actual sports equipment. As you can see, these are goals and the corner flags and those kinds of things, getting it ready for actual competition and game play, really.
01:10 Now, as you can see, the completed project is done. It looks absolutely brilliant in this. We’ve obviously got it so it’s installed where we can actually have small pitches, so playing it cross ways, and obviously, a full-sized pitch if we want people having competition on there or obviously professional game. Yeah, obviously, it looks fantastic there with the floodlighting, too, as you can see from the photo, so it is able to be used night and day and all the year round with it being artificial grass, as well, so real ideal training facility, really.
01:31 Soft Surfaces Limited have actually carried out a lot of work in the Bradford area, and as a result of this, we currently rank for the following key phrases within Google: full size artificial pitch installer Bradford, West Yorkshire synthetic turf construction, best 3G surface company Bradford, Yorkshire sports builders UK, Bradford company for fake turf, and many, many more. 01:58 Thanks a lot for watching, guys, and I’ll see you guys later.
Historically part of the West Riding of Yorkshire, Bradford rose to prominence in the 19th century as an international centre of textile manufacture, particularly wool. It was a boomtown of the Industrial Revolution, and amongst the earliest industrialised settlements, rapidly becoming the “wool capital of the world”.
The area’s access to a supply of coal, iron ore and soft water facilitated the growth of Bradford’s manufacturing base, which, as textile manufacture grew, led to an explosion in population and was a stimulus to civic investment; Bradford has a large amount of listed Victorian architecture including the grand Italianate City Hall.
Sport in Bradford
Bradford has a long sporting tradition, and Bradford Bulls, formerly Bradford Northern, is one of the most successful rugby league clubs in the world, winning the World Club Championship three times since 2002 and seven times winners of the Rugby Football League Championship.
Bradford City Football Club was formed in 1903. The Football League subsequently elected Bradford City to the league, with a total of 30 votes to replace Doncaster Rovers, because it saw the invitation as a chance to introduce football to the rugby-dominated county.
