A local pub in Burscough wanted to reduce the risks for the children playing on their equipment so that parents and kids can enjoy a relaxing time together, whilst having fun.
At Soft Surfaces we understand the need to reduce risks of injury when using equipment especially when it’s designed for children. We have our rubber extensively tested to meet requirements like critical fall height and help prevent serious injury.
Playground Flooring Rubber Shred
In the upcoming video, we will explain the transition that this local public house went through to protect the children who use their play equipment. This installation in Burscough, Ormskirk completely transform the tired patchy earth into a natural looking safety surface.
Please see video transcript below:
00:06 Hi guys, it’s Dan from Soft Surfaces here and today we’re going to be showing you a rubber mulch installation at the Bull & Dog Inn, Burscough, Ormskirk area.
00:14 So the first thing we do here is actually install the Geotextile Membrane, which is placed onto the surface. So as you can see this is a necessary part which we then install the rubber mulch on top of.
00:24 After the membrane is placed, the rubber mulch is then prepared, so you can see on this video here we’re preparing that mulch then to be installed.
00:32 After this, the rubber mulch is actually applied to the surface. So these photos you can see it being installed there. It’s a very nice natural finish, but obviously gives the kids the safety that they need.
00:38 And here’s the completed project now. So it’s a great little playground surface this for this Inn, as obviously it gives the kids ability to play whilst the family are going out for a meal or drink or whatever they’re doing, and obviously keeps the kids safe being rubber mulch, and being that rubber soft surface.
00:52 So that’s a really nice close up photo there of the surface itself.
00:56 If you enjoyed this video. Thanks for watching, guys, and I’ll see you guys later.
Ormskirk town is located in the district of West Lancashire it’s only 13 miles away from Liverpool and the home to Edge Hill University. Which brought an increase in popularity to all surrounding areas as there were increases in tourism and funding.
With Liverpool in the South and Preston in the North the A59 is the main road linking the two passing Ormskirk on the route. Also the A570 crosses Ormskirk from West to East linking up Southport to the national motorway network at junction 3 on th M58 which passes within 3 miles of the centre of town.
Major refurbishments where also taken out in 2009 on the local railway station with upgrades costing around £1 million this was due to Ormskirk being the northern terminus for Merseyrail.
