Recreational Basketball MUGA Sports Pitch

MUGAs or multi use games areas are primary areas where people of all ages can participate in multi sport activities in a safe and contained environment. Many schools and clubs choose to have a recreational basketball MUGA sports pitch which is also suitable for other sports. We can install these in various locations around the UK with a range of different designs.

Outdoor Basketball Courts

Basketball is often a sport that is played to recreational level and we can install sport facilities to suit the level you need. This includes the dimensions / sizes and surface type. A typical recreational sports surfacing size can be as little as 20m x 12m and as big as 106m x 71m. The size depends on your budget and the amount of space you have available.

Typical ball court surfacing includes Porous Macadam and EPDM recycled rubber crumb polymeric surfaces. These both offer the ball bounce qualities you need for playing basketball. If you want to play other sports like netball, you can choose to have a multi use games area. We’ll do this by adding line markings in different colours to mark out the individual sports.

Multi Use Basketball Facility

If you’re having a multi use basketball facility, you’ll need line markings on the surface. We can apply these to tarmac and polymeric surfacing using anti slip paint in various colours. We’ll also apply a MUGA anti slip coating to the whole area in a colour of your choice. Our clients commonly choose to play other sports such as tennis and netball on the basketball facility.

Check out the video below to see our team installing a full basketball court facility. For this project we installed a full polymeric rubber surface in blue with multi use line markings. The client also chose to have a sport rebound fence to help keep the area secure.
